Short history of Death Metal
Death metal started when Possesed released their debut: Seven Churches in '85. It was the early version of death metal called either proto-death or thrash-death. The album was very raw, vocals terrying growling, guitars crunching even more than normal thrash bands and drums fast as hell with both legs working all the time. In the first years of death metal the scene wasnt very strong, there werent alot of bands exept Possesed which changed their style into trash on the second album, Death which started in '87 very influented by the fathers of death (Possesed) and also a minor band not known in USA (from Brazil) Sepultura whih released an EP in '85 and the debut in '86 very raw and deathy, then they changed into thrash also. The real strong and vast scene started in '89 with such bands as Morbid Angel, Obituary, Atheist and others. In the whole globe the scene could be diveded in 3 biggest country-"spawners" of death bands: first was USA(Florida) with being the greatest and the most influential scene of them all, second is Sweden with an explosion of powerful bands between '90-'93 having their own style and third the Grindcore scene(the fastest) from Great Britian that started back in '87 and finished its peek in about '92. The whole death metal scene in years '90-'92 had its peak in releasing masterpieces still today causing alot of pleasent earaches, even 'till '95 most of the death acts were releasing great efforts of sweat, blood and pain! Then death metal('96) started to have really poor years changing their style in some kind of new death, though some bands were still releasin decent records it couldnt be called a strong scene anymore. Even if death started in '85 the real best years of it were '90-'92, history very short but also very creative!
